If you feel that you have been treated badly by your energy company you can get free and impartial advice from Energywatch.

They were founded in November 2000 as a part of the Energy Act and work closely with OFGEM, collecting information about energy supply companies from such sources as customer complaints and will actively work with companies to introduce changes to their policies, processes and systems in order to improve their customer services.

They are an independent body that aims to get consumers to use all of the free energy services that are currently available to them, such as free home energy surveys, best tariffs available in the market place, power saving tips and providing access to the wide range of energy subsidies available to the public.

The services offered by Energywatch include: Reducing your gas and electricity bills, offering advice and help for people in debt to energy companies and helping to improve people’s health and wellbeing.

The Energywatch web site is a useful source of impartial information for anyone who wishes to search for a better deal on their gas and electricity but do not feel comfortable using the commercially operated energy switching sites.
