Scottish Hydro-Electric are part of the Scottish and Southern Energy Group. As well as supplying gas and electricity to domestic and business customers.

They have a partnership arrangement with the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) in which they will donate £10 per fuel when you sign up to their RSPB tariff for either gas or electricity and a further £5 per year that you stay on that tariff.
All the energy they sell is matched by the amount they generate from hydro-electric power stations in the Scottish Highlands, where the landscape is ideally suited to this kind of energy production.
They operate a deep water wind turbine in the Moray Firth, the first of its type in the world. Their wind farm in Ayrshire was the first to produce in excess of 100 Megawatts and their new Hydro generation plant, Glendoe at Loch Ness, is set to be the most efficient hydro-electric power station in Great Britain.

Scottish Hydro have been producing hydro-electric power for 50 years, long before the problem of global warming had become apparent.

As an incentive to switch to them as a supplier, they offer a range of deals including Air Miles, cash discounts or 10% off vouchers at retailers like Argos or Homebase.

Some renewable energy suppliers charge a premium for supplying energy from renewable sources.  Scottish Hydro-Electric supply their products at the same tariff as their normal supply.
