Unit[e] is an independent energy supplier, providing power from renewable and sustainable sources to both domestic and commercial customers.
They were formed in December 1999 by Unit Energy Europe AG, the majority shareholder.
The main difference between Unit[e] and more traditional suppliers is that all of the energy they sell is from renewable sources; they are completely independent of the normal generation system.
It all came about after a MORI poll which indicated that up to 21% of the UK population felt willing to pay extra to ensure that all their energy came from renewable sources.   They have also positioned themselves to work with commercial entities who have published green agendas.
Unit[e] believe that all sectors of the community, both domestic and corporate, have become aware of the mixed problems of air pollution, ozone depletion and climate changes, and feel strongly enough to reduce the amount of energy produced by non-renewable means such as fossil fuels.
UK Government and EU policies state that the amount of renewable energy consumed in the UK should reach a target of 10% and a reduction of carbon dioxide emissions of 20% by 2010.
They believe that there are three viable methods of clean and renewable generation available to them, they are: Wind power, Hydro electricity and biomass.
They estimate that it will cost around £3 per month on top of the normal price of traditional energy supplies but will endeavor to assist you to reduce your consumption to cover that price difference.
