Utilita is a small independent energy supply company, based in Winchester, Hampshire.  They are licensed by both Ofgem and Ofcom and are able to supply gas and electricity as well as telephony services which they can offer with a single monthly bill for all. In addition they offer a free energy usage survey for the home.
As a customer you will be awarded loyalty points, known as Planet Points. These can be exchanged for energy saving products such as low energy light bulbs, loft insulation, heating control systems, cavity wall insulation or can even be exchanged for charitable donations to third world energy charities.
They also offer an energy tariff where all the energy you use is covered by power that has been supplied from renewable suppliers.
In addition to all this they are working with Climate Care (http://www.climatecare.org) to offset carbon emissions by promoting carbon reducing activities such as tree planting.
Utilita have a mission statement which goes along the lines of “We want to sell you less of our product”
To this end they are able to supply energy saving products such as solar heating panels that can be fitted to your roof.  Even in winter these simple units can pre-heat your water so that your boiler has to do less work to bring it to a temperature that can be used in the home.  In the summer they can fully heat your water, saving you even more money.
