Virgin HomeEnergy
Posted on: January 6th, 2008 by adminVirgin Home Energy was launched in 2000 as a joint venture between Richard Branson’s Virgin Group and London Energy, providing gas and electricity throughout the UK.
They are a part of the giant EDF energy group who hold supply licences for the UK. When they were initially launched it was hoped that customers who switch to Virgin would save at least £50 each year.
Their marketing points include the removal of standing charges on energy supplies, free calls to a 24 hour seven day a week customer care phone line where they guarantee that you will be able to speak to a real person and not a machine, discounted home energy efficiency products and of course, an association with the world famous Virgin brand.
Virgin can also supply gas to domestic customers provided it is supplied as a part of a dual fuel package.
Electricity can be supplied in several ways: by monthly direct debit where you receive an annual statement, quarterly billing with an invoice every three months or, in certain regions, by pre-payment key.
Discounts are offered to direct debit and dual fuel customers. This coupled with the option to keep track of your energy expenditure on line and a range of energy efficiency products, such as extra insulation, low energy light bulbs, radiator reflector foils and similar benefits aims to ensure that you will appreciate the benefit of switching to them as your energy supplier.
