Bridging the gap to battle demand for supply of power

Posted on: December 21st, 2007 by admin

To battle the increasing demand for energy production, renewable energy will be put in place of old gas and coal fired electricity. Coal mining is being looked at the only way out of this high demand and low supply of energy resources in Britain. Also termed as the generation gap, this will be combated if the coal mining is put in place and used by a new range of miners and coal users. Looking at coal as an alternative to energy is what brings the topic to the front and brings on discussions about how to battle this issue. At the government the MP’s have given their green signal to proceed with the 15 billion pound barrage study.

The Wales office too has joined in this drive, mainly because the large scale project should be able to satisfy atleast 5% of the energy needs in the nation. Even though there are environmentalist protesting that the installation of the plant could cause damage to the eco system, it will ultimately help in generating more power which is a crucial necessity. They are therefore taking into consideration any damage being caused to the habitats and making sure to compensate people dwelling in those areas. The Labour minister was apparently impressed with the plans and that is why he gave the go ahead sign to increase use of renewable energy. This will help in development of the Welsh coals, leading to additional bonuses through this energy project.
