Posted on: May 22nd, 2009 by Jason DrewDespite the huge credit crunch, Carrentals.co.uk has posted sales that are way ahead of their budgeted revenue target. In fact, they say that they are ahead of budgeted revenue target by 50% and up 30% for year on year revenue for the first quarter of 2009.
Carrentals.co.uk has been able to generate more than £16m in car rental sales and shows continued growth in its share of the market. The success of the site has been seen after only six years. When the site first launched it was a car hire broker site. However, after a re-launch in 2007, the site became a car hire comparison site. Since the re-launch, it has won a lot of awards including “Best Car Hire Website” Travolution Award in 2008 and the “Best Ski Car Rental” in the 2008 and 2009 Good Ski Guide Oscars.
Gareth Robinson, the managing director of Carrentals.co.uk said, “Demand for the first quarter has consistently been ahead of target. This success underlines the quality of the service we offer, with our CPA-based comparison model offering a fairer system to suppliers and wider choice and more competitive prices to customers.”
With Carrentals.co.uk, customers are able to compare prices on 35 different rental providers in more than 9,000 locations around the world. The site is also regularly listed in the top ten most visited car hire websites in the Hitwise report.
Robinson went on to say: “Many travel companies are finding trading conditions tough at the moment. Those who are performing well and who will survive are the ones who are focused on offering customers the best choice and prices. We make it easy for visitors to compare rental prices from both leading providers and specialist companies. We keep it simple and user friendly, and we will continue to develop the site to ensure the best possible customer experience.”
