CV Operator Show to Announce Two New Electric Vehicles

Posted on: April 21st, 2010 by Justin Becks

Right now electric vehicles are all the rage. That is why two new electric vehicles are going to be launched at the CV Operator Show. Allied Vehicles is showcasing two electrically power vans and people carriers.

The ePartner van and eBlipper van are powered by nothing more than electricity. Thus, the cars do not give off any carbon emissions when they are run. Since electrical vehicles emit no carbon dioxide when driven, green minded buyers need to ensure that the electricity used to charge the car or van comes from a renewable source.

Experts go on to point out that electric cars are great. They give off no carbon emissions and, thus, are great for the environment. However, if they are getting their power from a power plant that is giving off carbon emissions, then it almost completely defeats the whole point of driving it. Thus, the more electricity that people can get from renewable resources, the better.

The managing director of Allied Vehicles, Paul Nelson, commented that electric vehicle orders have been building steadily. They hope to tap into this market with the introduction of these smaller all electric models. He went on to say that more companies have to reduce their carbon footprint on urban deliveries, and these electric vans are just the ticket.

The new vans have a range of 65 miles before they need to be re-charged. Thus, the vans are not very practical for long trips. However, for people who are just using them for the drive to work or to run around town for a bit, then the vans are perfect.
