Eco Car Challenge Makes Way to London
Posted on: September 7th, 2010 by Jenson BrayshawReports show that eco conscious drivers may be making their way up to visit London later on this month. This is because the largest display of electric cars that the capital has ever seen will be there. The Eco Car Challenge will be taking place on September 12 and is going to be supported by Prince Charles’s environmental charity Start.
This diverse range of electric cars will include racing super cars, scooters, town run-abouts and bikes. They will be all driven down the avenue to Buckingham Palace by a host of stars. Some of the stars include Jodie Kidd, Dame Ellen MacArthur , and James Caan.
Event organizer, Roger Saul, went on to express his excitement ahead of the green car rally. He said that they want to inspire people to explore alternative transport that is more environmentally friendly. They want to make sure that people know that they cannot keep using up the world’s resources and pumping pollution into the atmosphere.
He went on to say that electric cars are getting far more affordable, and they will be explaining that. The government gives people up to 5,000 pounds to buy an electric car starting January 2011. This is a great time to start looking into electric cars to see what is out there and what kind of electric car will be perfect for each drivers’ needs.
Mr Saul also explained that electric cars were perfect for London. This is because they are not subject to the congestion charge. Overall, these cars can save people in London a ton of money in the long run.
