Eden Project in Cornwall to Become Ultimate Green Lodgings

Posted on: July 22nd, 2009 by Jenson Brayshaw

The Eden Project in Cornwall, one of Britain’s most popular “green” tour attractions, will be opening as a hotel for one night only.

A contest put on by laterooms.com, a UK accommodation website, is offering up a one night stay in one of the biomes located at the Eden Project in Cornwall.  The winner will sleep in a canopy bed in the Mediterranean biome, dine in the Rainforest biome, and receive a private tour of the Project after hours.

The location for the contest was chosen by visitors to the website who were polled on the best place to stay the night in the UK.  Other locations scoring high marks besides the Eden Project included Buckingham Palace, The London Dungeon, and Edinburgh Castle.

Some locations were unable to allow an overnight stay.  However, the contest is still running and contestants still have a chance to win overnight stays at Manchester United’s Old Trafford Stadium and the Blue Reef Aquarium.

The Eden Project hotel room is specially designed for this contest and will not be open on a continual basis.  However, the onsite biomes do offer affordable green accommodation and are an experience not to be overlooked.
