E.ON Offers Big Grant to Age Concern
Posted on: June 1st, 2010 by Jason DrewAccording to new reports, the energy giant E.ON has just offered a grant worth almost £10,000 to Age Concern. This grant was given in order to support the installation of energy efficient systems in one of its centers. E.ON has allocated the funding to Surrey Age Concern. This company will be using the money to revamp its center in Merstham.
The investment will be used toward effective roof insulation. However, it will also be put towards A rated double glazed windows, a new energy efficient boiler and new radiators. The Merstham center’s chief executive officer, Michael Ward, said that they are just delighted to be able to accept this funding. This means so much to the team at this facility, as well as local groups, which hire the hall.
Mr Ward went on to say that this grant from E.ON will allow them to have greater control over the energy that they use on a day to day basis. Not only will this play a very important role in the welfare of the older generation who visit the center, but it is also going to help keep the cost of the center down.
This funding from E.ON comes as part of its Sustainable Energy Fund. This was launched back in April of last year to help provide a grant system for community organizations that wished to become more environmentally friendly. Environmental groups say that it is good to see the system in action. They now understand what a great grant system this Sustainable Energy Fund really is. They finished up by saying they wish that other energy companies would do more to help the community as well.
