Essex County Council Announces Energy Efficiency Scheme

Posted on: January 5th, 2010 by Justin Becks

It now appears that the Essex Country Council has just recently announced plans to reduce the region’s carbon footprint. The local authority is sending home improvement agencies to visit the homes of vulnerable residents across the country to give them tailored advice on how they could improve the energy efficiency of their properties. This, of course, would improve the energy efficiency of Essex over time.

These home visiting staff members have been given suitable training in order to give homeowners specialist advice. This way every homeowner can be sure that they are getting the best advice for their property. The staff are trained to give advice to residents on everything from heating controls and fuel resources to energy bills and energy efficiency grants. Thus, it’s easy to see how their advice can be helpful for just about anyone’s situation.

Councilor Tracey Chapman, the cabinet member for environment and waste, said that this new service enables them to give energy saving advice to people who might not otherwise have a chance to hear it. A lot of people want to help do their part for their environment, but they are not sure what they can do.

Chapman also said that their homeworkers build up strong relationships with the people they visit, and they are able to save these residents money without having to bombard them with visits. This is a great chance for people to save money and do their part to support the world. Overtime, this will all add up, and people will be able to see the benefits these changes have made on the environment.
