Europcar Partners with Fiat to Supply Eco-Friendly Fleet

Europcar will now offer customers choices of Fiat’s Punto, Grand Punto, Idea, 500, Panda, Qubo, and Bravo all of which are eco-friendly forms of transport.
Fiat is currently ranked as the best selling choice for vehicles with average to zero CO2 emissions. A ranking which has driven Europcar’s decision to partner with the car company. The European-based car company has been moving towards green transport for a time now, and in 2008 were awarded the Green Charter given by the Bureau Veritas for their initiative in green transport options.
The car hire company is expected to continue their efforts to provide customers with low emission vehicle options in order to reduce the carbon footprint of the car hire industry. In addition to partnering with Fiat to provide eco-safe vehicles, the company has also begun offering access to CO2 emission ratings on their website detailing the specifics of their car hire fleet enabling customers to choose an eco-friendly vehicle prior to rental.
The new website feature allows customers to compare each vehicle available prior to hiring a car through the company’s website. Fiat’s available models rank as some of the highest available options in environmentally conscious vehicles, including the Fiat 500 and Fiat Panda which are some of the lowest CO2 emitters available through Europcar. The Fiat Idea and Fiat Grand Punto rank in at a close second offering lower than 120g/km CO2 emissions.
The Global Marketing Director for the company, Jehan de The, told the press that the partnership with Fiat will be strategic in accomplishing Europcar’s overall goal of becoming the most environmentally conscious European car hire company.
