Glow Worm Commercial Director Darren Finely Speaks About Boiler Scrappage Scheme
Posted on: February 18th, 2010 by Tessa ClarkeRecently there has been a lot of talk about the UK government’s boiler scrappage scheme. So far, 54,758 vouchers have been snapped up. This leaves only about 70,000 vouchers left that are worth close to £28 million.
Despite these numbers, only about 6 percent of the vouchers issued have been snapped up by people living in the North East. Boiler manufacture Glow Worm is urging more people to apply to have a chance to receive a £400 discount voucher off the price of a new energy efficient boiler. In order to take part in this scheme, the household has to have a working inefficient G rated model.
The Commercial Director of Glow worm, Darren Finely, said that nearly 55,000 vouchers have been granted, but only about 3,412 of these have been taken up by people who are living in the North East. The scheme is a great opportunity for people to get financial help with the cost of a new boiler, but this inventive will not be around for long.
He went on to say that thousands of people across the country are applying on a daily basis and people need to act fast in order to claim their voucher. In the long term, a new energy efficient boiler can help households reduce their annual gas bills and heat their homes more effectively. Thus, this is a win, win situation for home owners who want to improve their home’s efficiency and avoid a stress purchase further down the line. Glow Worm and the UK government are urging people to take advantage of this scheme.
