GoGo electric car hire service cuts carbon footprint
Posted on: November 2nd, 2009 by adminThe newly established UK-based company, GoGo Electric Car Rentals, is now offering London’s first ever battery-propelled vehicles for short-term car hire service users. For as low as £22 per day, almost the same cost with car rental companies that use petrol, drivers can now rent a four-passenger GoGo electric car for any destination in the country.
The company uses a Mega City car model that has a speed limit of 40mph. The electric car takes around six hours to charge and it can run approximately 50 miles between recharges. Having low carbon emission and being able to park for free across numerous locations in the UK’s capital city, the Mega City car is now becoming a hit for environmentally conscious Londoners.
Approximately 35 per cent of the UK’s energy is consumed by transport. Natalie Franklin, MD of GoGo Electric Car Rentals, said that the growing concerns about the environment and the need to reduce global greenhouse gas emissions are the reasons behind the creation of the company. With travelling as an essential part of everyone’s day-to-day life, the car hire firm is convinced that electric vehicles are the means to lessen London’s carbon emission.
All cars used at GoGo Electric Car Rentals have zero carbon emission. The French-made Mega City automobiles are also 100 per cent recyclable, making them the most environmentally friendly cars that a driver can hire in London. Not only are the cars green, GoGo Electric Car Rentals likewise uses recycled paper and eco-friendly products for cleaning the vehicles.
