Household Energy Bills In UK Could Rise This Year

Posted on: May 15th, 2008 by Tessa Clarke

When it comes to the normal energy bill for any gas customer in the UK it could go up to 46pc this year, according to energy price forecasters.

If the wholesale petrol prices along with the oil prices begin to go up then at the end of the year 2008 you may be seeing energy bills that hit £1,327. The energy supplier in the UK has stated that the wholesale prices of gas is going to rise to 77pc during the winter at 85p per term compared to the 48p per term for last winter.

Customers could face a 39pc increase when it comes to their yearly energy bill. It really is not a pretty thing at all. The best case scenario for this summer is the consumers getting a extra 10pc or £105 price rise over the summer and this will be followed by a 15 pc or £173 hike up in the month of January 2009.

By late summer this could take the normal UK energy bill up to £1,153 and at the beginning of next year it could be £1,327, which is a £415 increase.
