Major Hotel Chain to go Solar with Isofotón
Posted on: July 20th, 2009 by Samantha DonovanMajor hotel chain NH Hoteles has just teamed up with Isofotón, a solar technology manufacturer operating out of Malaga, Spain. The two companies will be collaborating on solar projects at the NH Parque Avenidas Hotel in Madrid and the NH Campo de Gibraltar in Palmones.
Isofotón specializes in solar thermal and solar photovoltaic installations and will guide NH Hoteles in the best methods to implement solar power. Research is also being conducted for several other locations in Sicily and southern Italy. The aim of the collaboration is to ultimately install photovoltaic and thermal solar power in all of the companies hotels where it is technically possible.
NH Hoteles currently operates in 22 countries on three continents. Currently NH Hoteles has 54 projected plans for new hotels, which will be added to the 347 hotels already owned by the company.
Isofotón is the largest manufacturer of photovoltaics in Europe. The company recently entered the market in the United States as well. The company is known for its work in rural areas. In previous years one quarter of Isofotón sales were supplying solar cells to provide electricity to rural areas in several different countries in the developing world.
