Millions of Brits Continue to Miss Out on Energy Savings

According to reports, almost a quarter of all the homes in the UK are missing out on huge savings on their energy bills. Mostly, this has to do with the fact that their homes do not have adequate insulation. Not only that, but most families qualify to get free insulation if they learn to look in the right areas.
Reports from Consumer Focus and Energy UK are showing that almost 10 million people do not have enough loft insulation. Almost 8 million have failed to have their cavity wall insulated as well. Thus, as they pay more money to heat their house, the money just seems to vanish into thin air (much like their heat).
Now, as part of a push for Big Energy Week, Consumer Focus and Energy UK are urging consumers to take one simple step that could save them tons of money on their energy bills. This one step is to find out how to get better insulation for their home. This is a very vital thing according to research from Citizens Advice, because almost 43 percent of Brits are worried that they cannot afford their next energy bill.
What most people do not know, is that discounted and free lot and cavity insulation is being offered by all the major suppliers. If people take these suppliers up on their offers, they could cut their energy bills by nearly £120 per year.
EDF Energy is just one of the companies that is offering free insulation. They are offering this to all consumers. However, when questioned about it, most people are not even aware that EDF Energy is offering such a deal. Scottish and Southern Energy is also offering free cavity wall and loft insulation to all of its consumers who have not yet taken action to insulate their home. All people have to do is contact the company.
Mike O’Connor, who is the chief executive of Consumer Focus, said that Millions of consumers are finding it very hard to afford higher-energy bills. Every penny that can be saved counts. Despite this fact, many people are paying more than they need to because their homes leak heat. People need to contact their energy firms today and find out what kind of specials they are offering. They need to do this before the offers are gone for good.
