New Boiler Scrappage Scheme Started by British Gas
Posted on: June 2nd, 2011 by Jenson BrayshawReports now show that the popular boiler scrappage scheme from British Gas is being welcomed back. Apparently this new scheme from British Gas is going to attempt to fill the “gap” that was left after the government withdrew the scheme just last year.
The Boiler Scrappage Scheme, which is the name of the scheme being offered by British Gas, is prepared to offer £400 per brand new Worcester Bosch Boiler. If people do not want that model, then they can get up to £200 off other boiler models. This is great news for people who are looking to replace their boilers, but there is a catch. Apparently people have to apply for this scheme by June 30 of this year in order to qualify.
Besides having to apply for this scheme quickly, there are not other catches that people have to worry about. Pretty much, this is a scheme that is actually available to anyone who is interested in getting an energy-efficient boiler, meaning that the people who want to take advantage of this scheme do not have to be a British gas customer.
On top of this, British Gas also said that people who take advantage of this scheme will also get a free energy efficiency assessment on their home. This is something that is supposed to help people understand how they are able to reduce their energy consumption and, thus, save money. Of course, as people save energy they also reduce their carbon footprint.
The truth of the matter is that getting a new energy-efficient boiler can really save home owners a lot of money. Most people are not even aware of how much money their old boilers could be costing them on heating bills.
