New Homes in Bedfordshire to Offer Wide Range of Eco Features

Posted on: June 2nd, 2010 by Samantha Donovan

According to reports, Barratt Homes is hoping that the green features of its new residential houses in Bedfordshire will prove attractive to eco-conscious buyers. Right now tons of housing companies are looking to make their latest homes as eco friendly as possible. A lot of this has to do with the fact that many homeowners and soon to be homeowners are now very eco-conscious.

These reports go on to say that Barratt Homes is inviting the public to the unveiling of its DeBalliol Case development in Kempston this coming weekend. A total of 52 different homes will be on offer. These homes range from one and two bedroom coach houses to four and five bedroom Victorian style properties, meaning that families of any size will be able to find the home that is perfect for them.

All of these properties are suppose to be fitted with low energy lighting, rain water butts, cycle racks, and even eco bins. Some will also benefit from solar hot water systems. This will help homeowners reduce their heating bills and cut their carbon footprint.

The director of sales at Barratt Northampton, Paul Walker, said that DeBalliol Chase combined all the aesthetic features of an older property with the benefits of buying new, such as energy efficiency. These are homes that everyone can get on board with.

So far proposals for 2,000 eco friendly homes have been submitted in Gloucestershire by developers Hunter Page Planning. The government is hoping that more homeowners will get on board this eco friendly train and upgrade their houses to lower their carbon footprint.
