NPower Tries New Way of Promoting Energy Efficiency
Posted on: July 24th, 2009 by Justin BecksA new advert has just come out from nPower that aims to promote energy efficiency in a different way. This new ad promotes energy efficiency using the well loved film and TV stars Wallace and Gromit. The new ad from nPower features these two stars in a 30 second commercial.
During the commercial an nPower worker educates them about loft insulation after Wallance attempts to fill the spaces between his walls with sheep. This, of course, leads to disastrous consequences. The fictional nPower worker, Bob, in the ad tells them that they could save money on their energy bills by properly insulating their loft.
The nPower marketing director, Kevin Peake, said that they are hoping that this new funny and positive approach to energy efficiency will show consumers how such a small change can make such a big difference in their energy bills. He added that, although loft insulation may not be an obvious priority in warm weather like now, it is the perfect time to go ahead and get it off the to-do-list and save money this winter.
The director of the online energy price comparison service ukpower.co.uk, Richard Eden says that he agrees that energy savings can be achieved through insulation. He added that using insulation can actually reduce household energy bills a lot.
This is just a way for nPower to help its consumers start thinking more about energy efficiency and helping to reduce carbon emissions. At the time, customers will be saving money, so nPower says it’s a win, win situation for everyone.
