Research Shows UK Motorists Should Go Eco-Friendly

In these trouble times, the last thing that is on the mind of most UK motorists is to switch their car to get a vehicle that will reduce their vehicle carbon emission. However, some experts around the UK say that this could actually be costing these families money.
Research that was done by “What Car?” showed that, from over 1,000 people who took part in their research, 56 percent of people said that the running cost of the vehicle was the most important fact that help them consider choosing the car that they own. The numbers for the “cost efficient vehicle” were much greater than any other “vehicle type” that was listed for the people who took part in the research. In fact, the impact that the car or vehicle had on the environment was only kept in the minds of about 2 percent of people.
The main problem that most experts see is that people are hurting themselves. Although they say that the cost of running the vehicle is the most important, running a car that is eco-friendly costs a lot less than running one that is not. Cars that cost less to run and take less fuel, are also the cars that tend to be the eco-friendly cars.
As a way to help people be able to afford these eco-friendly cars, some car companies, like Nissan, are working on ways to make less costly “green” cars. Their goal is to start off by reducing the vehicle carbon emissions in the north-east. However, Nissan also noted that they do hope that their ideas spread to other parts of the globe, like Europe, to really lessen the carbon emission footprint left by the world.
