Stig Gets Kicked From Top Gear

Posted on: September 9th, 2010 by Beth Williams

It now seems, according to Jeremy Clarkson, that Stig has been sacked from the show Top Gear. Apparently Ben Collins, who has played Stig for the past seven years, was canned after he unmasked himself. This came after the BBC failed to win an injunction preventing him from revealing his identity.

Clarkson went on to talk about the events that were unfolding. He said that he felt hurt and betrayed that Ben acted this way. Clarkson said that it was horrible, because Ben used to come around to his house for drinks and so on, but now it has all come to this. Either way, Ben is no longer Stig, as he has been removed.

Mr Clarkson said that he has spent the past three weeks doing nothing more than thinking about what on earth to do next. He then went on to say that, in the movie, Wall Street, Gordon Gekko said that greed was good and greed works. He noted that it does not; greed is bad and ruins people.

Jeremy was later asked who would be replacing Collins. To this he could not give a name, but he did say that there are thousands of people lining up to take the spot, so people should not worry. He then went on and said that he could not do it, because he is too old. Jeremy then jokingly said that he would like to get Prime Minister Cameron to do it, because he thinks he could drive good.

Before Ben Collins was the man behind the mask, he did many other things. In fact, before he was Stig he was an American NASCAR and Formula 3 driver. He was also a stunt double for the well known action star Daniel Craig.
