Toyota Prius Now Sports Solar Panels

Posted on: August 16th, 2010 by Jenson Brayshaw

According to new reports, the Toyota Prius hybrid car will be improving by leaps and bounds. These reports claim that the car will now come with solar panels on its roof. This new addition takes the Prius to a whole new level.

Apparently these solar panels provide power for the air conditioning. This means that it allows the system to be used without turning on the car’s engine and wasting fuel. Of course, this new amazing upgrade does not come free.

People are saying that this upgrade will set car drivers back 1,400 pounds. However, experts say that this opens the door for even bigger and better things. Now that Toyota has put the idea out there into the market, it should not be too long for other car makers to follow suit.

What a lot of car drivers do not know is that running the air conditioning takes up a lot of fuel when running a car. Thus, this feature allows drivers to be away from the car with their fans still on. Of course, if this was the only new feature it may not be worth it. The good news is that there is more.

Apparently this little upgrade comes with a neat little remote control. This allows people to start up the air conditioning in their car before even stepping foot in the car. According to a lot of different sources the Prius is the most aerodynamic production car in the world. It can reach the same speed as its competitors while using a lot less energy. One thing is for sure, the Prius is paving the way for big things in the automotive world.
