Views sought on proposed wind farm
Posted on: June 12th, 2008 by Emma YoungViews are being sought on a proposed wind farm in case everything goes according to plan would be situated on open farmland some twelve miles on the west side of Morpeth.
nPower Renewables, an energy company in the United Kingdom, has come up with an online questionnaire as well as establishing a telephone information line in order to get the views of the members of the public concerning the proposal to build the Kirkharle Wind Farm.
Other measures that nPower Renewables has taken include publishing an informational leaflet which is being circulated to over one thousand and six hundred households which are within a radius of ten kilometres from the proposed site of the Kirkharle Wind Farm.
The informational leaflet goes into details concerning the proposal to develop the wind farm. In the leaflet are computer-generated images showing what the project would look like once completed.
nPower Renewables plans to put eight wind energy turbines whereby there will be two clusters each of four wind turbines. The height of each of the wind turbines will be approximately one hundred and twenty five metres.
nPower Renewables has disclosed that the energy generated from the wind farm would be enough to meet the annual electricity requirements of roughly between seven thousand and eight hundred homes and eleven thousand and six hundred homes.
nPower RenewablesÂ’ Project Developer, Richard Best, disclosed that the firm had undertaken environmental assessment for the Kirkharle Wind Farm location in a bid to ensure that everything they would engage in was appropriate and would not bring any harm to the environment or to the people in the vicinity.
