Wales Environmentalist Builds Car With the Ability to Run on Chip Fat
Posted on: April 29th, 2010 by Samantha DonovanPeople from all around the world are doing what they can to help reduce carbon emissions. These people know that everyone has to take active measures to save the planet before it is too late. However, some of these people are willing to take this idea to the next level. This just so happens to be the case for Buzz Knapp Fisher, a Wales environmentalist.
This man has now decided to take this issue of green transport into his own hands. He did this by creating what he is calling the “womble truck.” Mr Fisher went on to purchase a car in a scrap yard six years ago for just £250. Since then, he has made some alterations to the car so that it can now be operated on chip fat.
The car, which is featuring parts form 21 different kinds of vehicles, is able to reach top speeds of almost 110 miles per hour. Mr Fisher told the media that the “womble truck” is inexpensive to run in addition to being environmentally friendly. He continued to explain that the aim of the exercise was to apply the different methods of moving around. It was also proving that people do not need oil to get around at all. There are ways around it. He went on to say that more people will soon have to start living a lower carbon lifestyle. There is an increasing demand for electric and bio diesel cars in the UK.
Right now it is still not known just how practical this car would be to make or for an average person to run. Either way, Mr Fisher got his point across and proved that there are ways around oil.
