Wind farms gaining more wind

Posted on: December 21st, 2007 by admin

A sudden surge in popularity of the wind farms is gaining high speed in UK, thanks to the intervention of the Carbon Trust and the Energy Technologies institute. They are getting together all those involved towards erecting more wind farms across UK. With a plan of investing something close to 40million pounds, the two governing bodies  are trying to bring in companies that have experience in offshore experience or those who have establishments in such locations. These also include other oil and gas companies that could come in handy with their suggestions and shared experiences.

The carbon trust and firm is bound to invest more in getting extensive Research carried out and to conduct demonstrative projects to improve the cost  and let the world know how valuable the wind farms could be. The head of the governing body also mentioned they are working on cutting costs of the technology being used in these systems by bringing in universities and other private firms.

Just when UK was beginning to accept the idea of having more wind farms, this proposition came into being  and now the total energy expected to be generated stands at about 33GW. Like any other project,
this too had its share of protesters but that will die out once results are visible.
